When dealing with most service providers, you will find that they can only offer a limited range of technologies. Some may work quite well for specific purposes, but rarely will they cover
all aspects of the discovery life cycle. Therefore, this means you either end up with bits and pieces of a complete solution, or you have to live with limited productivity throughout the process.
Conversely, if a provider
can provide functionality throughout the discovery life cycle, it has to do so by cobbling together different technologies, usually by third-party providers. Doing so only adds complication and expense to an already complicated and expensive process ... not to mention introducing multiple delays as data is migrated from one solution to the next.
- Does not provide a complete solution
- Introduces inefficiencies to the process
- Adds more complication and expense
